Realistic and Gruesome Cakes Will Creep You Out For Any Occasion

We’re not exactly sure what kind of celebration would warrant a realistic human head or a slithering lamprey, but these cakes by Katherine Dey exist, and they’re pretty gruesome.

Dey, a registered nurse, apparently borrows her design inspiration from her profession. And, we’re guessing that she sees a lot of blood, and internal organs on the outside of bodies. We can’t explain the aliens or bugs, but they’re pretty awesome nonetheless.

Grab a Slice of The Skin Cake

The Slice Skin Cake is brought to us by Britain-based cake designer Gillian Bell. Crafted to resemble sutured flesh — it’s the perfect cake for a horror movie fan, or a very bad surgeon. No mention what the skin cake is filled with — but we can only hope it’s red velvet.

Gruesome Facial Injuries Created With Cake and Candy

Brought to us by Dutch photographer, Ashkan Honarvar, Faces 5 is a photo series that creates seemingly gnarly facial injuries with cake and candy. In place of blood and actual innards, icing and sprinkles are used to create imagery that’s a little easier to take — very little.

As described on the artist’s website, “This series constitutes Ashkan Honarvar’s search for an identity and the physical and psychological wounds inflicted on soldiers by war… Ashkan Honarvar used existing pictures of young First World War soldiers with facial mutilations.”

Now, who wants cake?
