Embroidered Bread Is The Best Invention

March 31, 2016 by Chris Durso

Sliced bread is nice and all. You can toast it, spread butter on it, or put a lot of bacon in between it. Slovakia-based artist, Terézia Krnáčová, is here to improve upon ordinary sliced bread by embroidering it.

Everyday Bread is a fun project, where Krnáčová sews different patterns on six slices of bread, while leaving one untouched to represent the Sabbath. Sunday, coincidentally, is a great day for bacon sandwiches.

Need some fun vegetable decor to hang around the house? Consider this cool embroidery project by Veselka Bulkan of Green Accordion.

Veselka came up with a creative way to use an embroidery hoop, by only utilizing part of it. Embroidered greens give way to hanging felted carrots and radishes. See more of her work here.

Who would’ve thought that embroidery and meat would go so well together? Artist Ali Lander-Shindler already knows that meat goes with everything, and has created a series of meat-inspired embroidered typography.

Created with colors and patterns influenced by the subject — for instance the fleshy pinkish hues of Canadian Bacon — the series also contains incredible textures that you’ll want to reach out and touch. Touch the meat, touch it!!
