How Bacon Is Made

October 6, 2010 by Chris Durso

How It’s Made – Bacon takes an inside look at the production of the magical candy meat on the industrial scale. Although not quite as horrifying as the machine separated chicken that we were recently subjected to, sometimes insight into mass produced food falls under the category of ‘too much information’.

Prepare to be introduced to the drench cabinet, belly tumbler, and fat trough. Enjoy.

That’s a good point Jan… This appears to be a case of just pre-cooked bacon. We still buy most of our bacon uncooked. Americans still do some cooking, especially if the end result is bacon.

    Nice video.
Do americans really prefer already cooked bacon over self made?
I have never seen anything like that in stores around germany.
I buy my bacon smoked and sliced and cook it myself.
Don’t you lose something of the flavor if the bacon is cold and not fresh made?
