Ted Williams — not to be confused with the .400 hitting frozen guy of the same name — is a former homeless man and current internet sensation. After being discovered peddling roadside by a local news station, the man with the ‘golden voice’ is suddenly the most employable man in America.
After receiving a much needed haircut and a gig doing voice work for the Cleveland Cavaliers, Williams can now be found shilling for Kraft Mac & Cheese. Explained by a Kraft spokesperson, “We were in the unique position to help Ted use his voice to gain employment and help our campaign.”
Although this is easily the feel-good story of the new year, we can’t help but wonder if Williams’ fleeting celebrity status will dictate his career trajectory. A typical celebrity downfall will only lead him back to his days of cardboard signs and drugs.
We can only hope that the suits at Kraft had the wherewithal to add a lifetime supply of the go-to munchie helper to Williams’ contract — just in case.
