Lucy Sparrow is back and she’s gone bigger and retro. Sparrow Mart, probably the most ambitious felted project in history, is an 80s-style supermarket where all of the products are handmade from felt.
The items for sale range from Spam and Milk Duds, to laundry detergent and Tampax. The super-soft supermarket is open from August 1st-31st in the lobby of Standard Hotel in Downtown LA.
The only thing that makes yummy food better, is when it’s super-soft and huggable. Ukraine-based designer Hanna Dovhan knows this, and creates adorable felted wool foods.
We first discovered Hanna after the mind-blowingly cute Avocado Plushies, and she’s back with the Donut Couple, Hugging Croissants, and Banana Love. See even more over at her Etsy shop.
Imagine, in the middle of a city made mostly of concrete and steel, a convenience store is filled with the softest and cuddliest items available.
Artist, Lucy Sparrow, made this a reality with 8 ‘Til Late — a bodega filled with handmade felt products. Placed at The Standard, High Line in New York City, everyday products — such as cereal, condiments and Astroglide — are reimagined and stocked on shelves and in deli counters.
Due to overwhelming popularity, the store sold out of everything and closed ahead of schedule. The good news is that some of Lucy’s felt products are available for sale online.
Move over, eggs and bacon… There’s a new candidate for ‘best breakfast couple,’ and they appear very much in love.
Egg Love is brought to us by Ukrainian artist, Hanna Dovhan, who appears to have a thing for hooking up adorable foods. The handmade felted dolls can be displayed apart, or fit together to complete the cutest egg ever.
