Ever-evolving menus and pop-up restaurants are nothing new, but What Happens When — a temporary restaurant installation in New York City — will not only change the menu every 30 days, but also the restaurant’s entire concept, design, and soundscape.
What Happens When is a playground for food. It is a temporary restaurant installation that transforms every 30 days for 9 months, offering guests an ever-changing culinary, visual and sound experience.
This delicious exhibition is a result of the collaboration between one chef, two designers, a photographer and a composer.
To make it a more personal experience for the diner, the people behind What Happens When will actually crowdsource ideas for the restaurant’s next concept. Those willing to make a small donation to Kickstarter will have a say in their own experience at the restaurant, from the region of cuisine to the music genre.
