The Vegetable Orchestra

July 15, 2010 by Chris Durso

Finally, someone has found a use for vegetables. The Vegetable Orchestra turns items from the produce section into a makeshift veggie symphony.

The Vegetable Orchestra was founded in 1998 and consists of 11 musicians, a sound engineer, a video artist, and of course a cook. Based in Vienna, the Vegetable Orchestra plays concerts in Europe and Asia.

With instrument names such as cucumberphone, aubergine clap, and pepper trumpet; one could easily mistake these terms as euphemisms for private parts or VD. But the ingenuity and spare time is evident.
