The Cthulhu Wedding Cake was made by Kerry’s Custom Cakes. Inspired by the fictional undersea character created by H.P. Lovecraft, the cake includes a sword-wielding bride and groom, and awesome sugar tentacles that could easily represent the challenges of marriage. Mmmm… kids and mortgage payments.
American Gothic Wedding Cake
American Gothic, the oft-parodied 1930 Grant Wood painting, gets its inevitable rendering as a wedding cake. Brought to us by H Cakes & Sweets in New York, the cake depicts an element from the painting in each layer. Starting at the bottom with the cottage that inspired the painting, the cake works its way up to the farmer’s now iconic pitchfork. Hopefully the father of the bride doesn’t bring his to the wedding.

Life-Sized Bride Wedding Cake
Here comes the bride… and her fondant-covered 400-lb twin. When deciding on an appropriate cake to express her love — for herself — Chidi Ogbuta, 35, opted for a life-sized replica. And why not? The big day should be all about the bride — even a bride that’s an egotistical lunatic.
Thankfully, the groom was nice enough to put his wife’s purse down to take the photo.
