How Many Calories Are In A Drink From Starbucks?

1

The next time that you’re enjoying one of Starbucks’ blended espressos, you might want to consider what you could be having instead.

Ryoko Itawa of I Love Coffee has put together a handy infographic, How Many Calories Are In A Drink From Starbucks? It encourages the coffee drinker to not only consider healthier options for your caffeine addiction, but it also finds your drink’s very surprising caloric equivalent.

For instance, around the holidays when you have nothing by Peppermint White Chocolate Mochas on the brain — you could ingest the same amount of calories from almost four cans of Coca-Cola. A Green Tea Latte must be healthy, right? Wrong. A medium McDonald’s fries could replace it in the calorie department.

Although, now you know you could have a yummy coffee drink, instead of the 150 Skittles often ingested in one sitting.

If The Little Mermaid Were The Starbucks Mermaid

Artist Bruce Yan re-imagined a few classic cartoon characters as corporate mascots. As seen here, Ariel becomes the Starbucks mermaid. And, here at Foodiggity, we’re always a fan of the Starbucks logo being messed with.

Yan also mashes together Astro Boy and Bob’s Big Boy, creating a seamless merge of the two. See more of Yan’s work here.

Starbucks Coffee Cup Sleeve Art

We’ve certainly seen our share of coffee cup art. But what about those cardboard sleeves that keep you from burning your hand on your mocha-choca two-pump half-caf latte?

Corporate banker and coffee sleeve artist Ahmed Al Emairi tries to improve upon the under-appreciated insulator with his Instagram project, Starbucksism. Ahmed uses the iconic Starbucks mermaid to recreate illustrations of pop culture icons, from Darth Vader and Jack Sparrow, to Michael Jackson and Steve Jobs.

A Gallery Of Hilariously Misspelled Names on Starbucks Cups

1

Have you ever been to Starbucks and found your name hilariously misspelled on your mocha-choca-half-caf-two-pump-vanilla latte?

You probably drank your seven-dollar drink anyway — but couldn’t help but wonder if the misspelling was a simple mistake, or you were just the unfortunate victim of a coffee store employee’s only source of entertainment.

9GAG recently collected a few of Starbucks’ spelling blunders. Again, some appearing to be honest mistakes, some are obviously a barista’s sweet revenge for your pretentious drink order, or that you have a name that deserves to get misspelled. Sorry, Bronwyn.

Beautiful Doodles On Starbucks Cups

1

Face it… Sitting at Starbucks pretending to get work done can be boring. And, coffee cup doodling is an effective time-killer.

UK-based illustrator Johanna Basford has taken the concept of cup art, but cranks out some legitimate works. Using what she refers to as “inky magic,” Basford works around the mermaid icon, disclaimers, and other Starbucks mumbo jumbo — creating doodles that’ll make most coffee house-dwelling procrastinators jealous.
