The Soup Robot Has No Soup For You

The Soup Robot, in theory, could be quite useful to those who cannot serve themselves. That is unless the robot was a useless pile of scrap metal.

Brought to us by shitty robot maker extraordinaire, Simone Giertz, the robot tries its best to spoon soup into the mouth of its owner. Needless to say, it fails miserably. Please watch.

Watch This Chef Make Foods From Seinfeld

Seinfeld episodes always had a way of making us laugh, cringe, and occasionally leave us hungry. Whether it’s soup, Junior Mints, black and white cookies or babka.

Chef Andrew Rea, of Binging with Babish, has obviously been studying his reruns, and recreated a few Seinfeld Foods. Although, the Soup Nazi’s version of mushroom soup is the only food in the series that even mentions a recipe — Rea improvises, bringing these sitcom props to life.

First up, is the aforementioned Soup Nazi’s Wild Mushroom Soup, followed by Elaine’s Muffin Tops, and a babka battle between chocolate and cinnamon. Now, how do we make a marble rye on the end of a fishing line?

Swanky, The Swan Ladle That Floats In Your Soup

swanky-swan-ladle

The image of a swan floating around a lake is so aesthetically-pleasing. Warm soup is like giving your innards a big hug. SWANKY, the floating ladle, is here to combine swans and soup to help give us sensory overload.

The kitchen accessory is not only designed to look like a majestic swan, but it floats upright atop your stewing liquid of choice, until you’re ready to scoop and pour.

The SWANKY is brought to us by OTOTO, and is currently in Kickstarter phase. Available in white, black or pink — you can find more information on how to get your own here.

Food For Thought, Books Packaged As Canned Food

food-for-thought-books-02

The problem with most books, besides all of the big words and lack of pictures, is that they’re never packaged to look like food. Designer, Maria Mordvintseva-Keeler, is here to help change that.

Food For Thought is a design concept that rethinks ordinary linear books, by packaging them in food cans. Three food-themed books — Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Naked Lunch and Dinner at the Homesick Restaurant — also include elements of the book plot illustrated on the can. Finally, pretty pictures to look at.
