Watch ‘Machete’ Star Danny Trejo Make Bread Animals

danny-trejo

You may recognize Danny Trejo as the star of Machete, or perhaps another movie where he kills a lot of people. And if you ever wondered, as I often do, what Machete does during his downtime, Nerdist has some insight.

Danny Trejo’s Breadanimals visits the action hero during a break from his machete-wielding schedule, to watch him bake some cute bread animals.

From a sourdough turtle to a brioche alligator — Trejo’s creations are as adorable as they are delicious-looking. Just don’t tell him we said that.

A 3D-Sculpted Alphabet Using Food and Other Everyday Objects

Know your 3D-rendered ABCs. The Sculpted Alphabet is brought to us by German design studio FOREAL — rendering all 26 letters using Cinema 4D.

The letters that look good enough to eat are only part of the series, as they employ various everyday objects and body parts as inspiration. However, we focused on the food-related ones because that’s how we roll.

A Full-Size Fast Food Kitchen Carved Entirely From Wood

1

Although we try to ignore what’s going on behind the scenes at a typical fast food restaurant — when it’s stripped down and minimalized, it could be quite beautiful.

At least this version is, by artist Roxy Paine. Officially-titled Carcass, the scale replica fast food kitchen is carved entirely from wood. From the coffee pots to the french fry droppers — Paine spared no detail in the kitchen’s creation. Except the grease stains, and pimply cashiers.

Carcass is on view at Kavi Gupta Gallery in Chicago.

Banksy Sculpture of Ronald McDonald Getting His Shoes Shined

MCDONALD-main-sized-private

In case you haven’t been keeping up… Street artist/shit-stirrer Banksy has unleashed a month-long assault on New York City. One of his latest installments is a large fiberglass sculpture of Ronald McDonald getting his shoes shined — literally.

The Ronald McDonald is meant to be “a critique of the heavy labor required to sustain the polished image of a mega-corporation.”

It made its debut in the Bronx on Wednesday, and will appear randomly in front of various McDonald’s locations throughout the city over the next week.
