Because nothing is ever bigger in Japan — Burger King Japan has decided to change that, with a hamburger that can only be described as ‘Americanesque’. The pizza-sized hamburger will be available for the holidays, November 11 through December 22.
And the resemblance to pizza doesn’t appear to end with its size, as the bun is scored to encourage slicing and sharing with friends. Sharing is where the comparison to anything American actually ends. Merii Kurisumasu!
Although not the largest piece of sushi ever made, the ‘Generous Roll‘ is the largest sushi available regularly on any restaurant menu. Available at Umewaka Restaurant in Anjo City, Japan, this monstrosity weighs in at five kilograms, and costs about $197 USD.

Just in time to ruin lunch, the Dancing Squid as it’s known, might also haunt your nightmares. Unless you’re from Hakodate, Japan — where the reanimated and tentacle-flailing squid is quite popular.

Zauo (ざうお), a chain restaurant in Japan, offers patrons their seafood of choice, cooked (or not) to their liking. As long as you catch it yourself.
Although a unique approach to interactive dining, any semblance of sport is far removed from the actual fishing. For one, the water is crystal clear, removing any guesswork as to where the fish are. And, the obviously hungry fish will immediately bite at anything lowered into the water — not unlike any aquarium.
It is the closest thing to shooting fish in a barrel that you can get. Unless you’re in one of the lower U.S. states, where there are barrel fishing restaurants at every gas station.*
