Have you ever wondered if those lumps of dough in your favorite cookie dough ice cream was the real stuff, or just imitation balls of shame made to look like cookie dough?

According to Joe Satran, who recently conducted some intensive research, it’s the real deal and he’s got the cookies to prove it. By scooping out the once questionable dough, Joe sifted out the superfluous ice cream and baked up a batch of cookie dough ice cream cookies.

Get that ice cream involved, and you’ve got the cookie-doughiest of cookie dough ice cream sandwiches. Or, make some dough ninjas.
