Chips Made of Crickets Are Called ‘Chirps,’ Obviously

April 28, 2017 by Chris Durso

They may appear creepy and keep you up at night with their incessant chirping, but crickets are loaded with protein.

Chirps are the perfect way to get all of that healthy stuff, without having to hunt down the little critters yourself. The chips are made from cricket flour — a nice way of saying that the crickets are blended into dust — with each serving containing as much protein as an egg white.

They’re currently available in Cheddar, BBQ, and Sea Salt. They also remain quiet at night, with the only sound being the crunch of your yummy bug chip.
