Creating upscale menu items with lowly McDonald’s ingredients is nothing new — but Kung Pao McNuggets are involved here.
A few NYC chefs were recently invited to an upscale event, where they were given the challenge of creating gourmet meals using McDonald’s. The results, as you might expect, are an interesting mix of surprisingly edible-looking meals, to putting lipstick on a pig.
The Chef’s Pencil set by Paper Pastries provides culinary crib notes while you cook and prep.
Although it’s hard to imagine that someone who has earned the title of chef would need to be reminded what ‘sauté’ means — these pencils could certainly be a cool addition to any kitchen.
Or perhaps a culinary student about to fail ‘basic vocabulary’ might find these useful.
