How To Best Pair Your Halloween Candy With Wine

When the kids go to sleep after a long night of trick or treating, so starts the tradition of eating all of their candy. And, after walking around the neighborhood and having to interact with neighbors, you may also need a drink.

Thanks to wine app, Vivino, you can properly pair your Halloween candy and wine. Is your kids’ candy stash mostly Kit Kats? Then you may want to pick up a medium red. Want to down a few hundred Skittles? Look towards a dry white wine, such as a sauvignon blanc or pinot grigio.

Do you find yourself with a lot of candy corns? Grab a sparkling wine and start looking for a new place to live… your neighbors suck.

Mac and Cheese Candy Canes Exist

Few candies are better at representing the Christmas season better than candy canes. So iconic, festive and stripey but, let’s admit, a bit of a letdown in the flavor department.

That’s why Mac and Cheese Candy Canes may seem like a horrible idea. That is until you realize that these novelty versions of the candy will illicit the same reaction as the standard peppermint version… A few licks, feel a bit festive, and then move on to candies that don’t suck. Happy Holidays, everyone!

Behold The Cotton Candy Hot Dog

Someone who enjoys the mix of salty and sweet has taken the concept a bit too far. Behold, the Cotton Candy Hot Dog.

The culinary curiosity is brought to us by the Erie Seawolves, the Double-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers. The plain hot dog, which appears to have done nothing to deserve this, is wrapped around a cotton candy ‘bun.” And, if that wasn’t enough, the only condiment allowed on the already sickly-sweet dog, are Nerds candies.

The Cotton Candy Dog was part of the Erie Seawolves “Sugar Rush Night.” We’d say they succeeded.
