The Greatest Food Culture Site Ever*
Coffee, besides helping us feel less rage in the morning, has become a great art medium. Now, artist Michael Aaron Williams has taken coffee art a bit further by going old-school — with a series of portraits painted on ledger paper that dates back to the 1920s and 30s.
The weathered paper adds the perfect backdrop to the brown, amber and copper hues of the coffee, while Williams’ partial portraits complete the antique feel. See more of Williams’ work at his Facebook page.

We don’t know how they do it — we assume they employ some sort of mad scientist — but The Grapery has created a variety of grape that tastes just like pink cotton candy.
The Grapery assures us that Cotton Candy Grapes, “taste exactly like the pink spun-sugar treat you loved as a kid at the circus.” Of course the grapes are offered without all of the teeth-rotting sugar and whatever it is that turns your mouth red for a week. How may lumps do you take in your coffee? Russian artist Dina Belenko takes just enough to recreate a few old-school video games in her series, 8-Bit Teatime.
Showing just how ridiculous video game technology once was — Pac-Man, Space Invaders, and Tetris are recreated rather convincingly with nothing but sugar cubes. Quarters up, and check out Belenko’s work here.

You know that stuff that comes out of your faucet for free? Well, there’s now a restaurant that would like you to drive to their location, gaze upon a 45-page menu of nothing but water, and then non-ironically order a $16-bottle from a “water sommelier.”
The restaurant that you probably hate now is called, Ray’s and Stark Bar, and it’s unsurprisingly in L.A. However, the menu is kind enough to offer tasting notes, and uses a lot of fancy adverbs to describe each clear tasteless liquid.
