Extreme Close-ups of Food

July 20, 2011 by Chris Durso Leave a Comment

A fascinating series of microscope food photography is brought to us by Caren Alpert. Magnified in some cases as much as 300x, we get extreme close-ups of anything from cake sprinkles to shrimp tails. Some results fascinating, some falling into the category of T.M.I.

Seen above; sun-dried tomato (250x), cake sprinkles (65x), and cauliflower (110x).
