Another retro food ad contest by Vintage Ads, reveals a frightening time in American history when homecooks and fledgling food companies were just trying to find their place in the culinary world.

With excessive use of SPAM, the forming of everything into some sort of loaf or casserole, and use of the word ‘ovenizing’ — the results are what you might expect. American’s first attempts at haute cuisine even manage to make bacon unappetizing. Please proceed with caution.
