Beautiful Paper Trees Made From a McDonald’s Take Out Bag

The test of a truly great artist, is to be able to turn something unappealing and mundane into something beautiful. Artist Yuken Teruya took a take-out bag from McDonald’s — an item destined to be crumpled up and discarded — and sculpted beautiful paper trees from it. Using the bag’s garish colors for the tree, the bag itself is then used to frame the sculptures and add some dramatic lighting.

Officially titled Notice-Forest: What Victory Tastes Like, the trees are on display at the David B. Smith Gallery in London from Aug.3 to Sept.1.
