Postcards That Encourage You To Use Them As A Coffee Coaster

post-cups

The four stages of receiving a postcard usually goes something like this… Receive postcard, pretend to read postcard, place on desk, use postcard as a coaster. Thankfully, PostCups actually encourage this.

The postcards, created by designers Ink Julep and Jenn Perng, contain illustrations that are incomplete. It is only when the postcard recipient places their coffee on it and creates a coffee ring, that the illustration is complete. Whether you actually read the other side or not.

One pack contains seven illustrations. Check them out here.

The Coffee Printer Is Good To The Last Drop

Coffee, a wonderful start to the day, is also a popular art medium. Now, coffee has graduated from analog to digital, with the Coffee Drip Printer.

Brought to us by Ted Kinsman, the printer borrows from the technique of pointillism. Dispensing its ‘ink’ one drop at a time in varying sizes, along with coffee’s natural hues, give each print its tonal qualities.

Although, any colored liquid can be used to create some point-art, coffee would be better for anyone looking to lay down some earth tones. I hear that drinking coffee ink will also help make mornings tolerable.

Extraordinary Coffee Art Uses The Drink, The Beans, and The Brewed Grounds

coffetopia-1

We’ve certainly seen our share of coffee art lately. However, Indonesian artist Ghidaq al-Nizar is using his morning brew in all of its forms.

Whether it’s in liquid form, or using just-brewed beans, Ghidaq creates beautiful paintings and sculptures, not wasting any part of the brewing process. The project is appropriately tagged #zerowastecoffee, and you can see more of the project at Coffeetopia on Instagram.

Spilled Coffee Art Is A Wonderful Accident

spilled-food-art-giulia-bernardelli-41

When you spill your coffee… Does it just look like, you know, a spill?

It’s OK, we can’t all be artists like Giulia Bernardelli, who sees spilled coffee as an opportunity. The best part is, her coffee paintings are done spontaneously, meaning that Giulia does not plan these ahead of time, and uses whatever means are available to draw with.

See more below and over at Instagram.
