Snack Foods Repackaged To Help Them Appear Artisanal

March 27, 2015 by Chris Durso Leave a Comment

If you’ve ever wondered how you could make those junk foods of yours appear more fancy… it’s all about the packaging.

Dan Meth over at Buzzfeed tests this theory, by repackaging some very unsophisticated food, to make them appear more artisanal.

For example, Slim Jim become Slim James, and suddenly the meat-like stick is suitable for the snootiest of food snobs.

Although, I do not agree with a single-chamber package of Nerds… That’s some low-brow shit.

Food For Thought, Books Packaged As Canned Food

March 17, 2015 by Chris Durso Leave a Comment

The problem with most books, besides all of the big words and lack of pictures, is that they’re never packaged to look like food. Designer, Maria Mordvintseva-Keeler, is here to help change that.

Food For Thought is a design concept that rethinks ordinary linear books, by packaging them in food cans. Three food-themed books — Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Naked Lunch and Dinner at the Homesick Restaurant — also include elements of the book plot illustrated on the can. Finally, pretty pictures to look at.

The Sandwich CD Is A Delicious Way To Enjoy Music

March 16, 2015 by Chris Durso Leave a Comment

With CDs quickly becoming an antiquated medium — musicians need to come up with more creative ways to get their art out to the masses. Lucky for the hip-hop group, Junk Science, everyone likes sandwiches.

And The Hundred Dollar Sandwich is a fun way to get people to buy a physical CD. The compact disc set includes two discs that act as the bread. They house the sandwich filling, which are printed lyrics and liner notes, all packaged in a handy sandwich bag.

Just don’t leave it laying around at work, or someone will steal your lunch. Even if they don’t like hip-hop.

Pizza Condoms Deliver

January 29, 2015 by Chris Durso Leave a Comment

It’s been said that sex is like pizza… Even when it’s bad, it’s still pretty good. Now, thanks to a packaging concept by Russian designer Marina Malygina, the two have officially been combined. And it’s not bad.

The Pizza Condom is wrapped in what looks like a pizza with the works. And, to reinforce the theme, the condom is then housed in a small delivery box. How good your pizza will be, is completely up to the delivery boy.

Pantone Beer Packaging Matches The Color of The Beer Inside

If you pick your beer by color, a new packaging project by Spanish creative agency Txaber is just for you. The concept uses Pantone swatches to give you an idea of the beer that lies inside.

Whether you roll with a cold can of 1595 C, or you’re feeling bold and want to throw back a 426 C, the packaging let’s you know what’s in store before you crack it open.
