Be A Watermelon In This Video Game Using an Actual Watermelon Controller

June 29, 2017 by Chris Durso

Why did the watermelon cross the road? Because it was the protagonist in a linear video game trying to escape, of course.

Officially titled, The Story of the Revolutionary Watermelon That Wanted to Live Free as a Bird and Learned How to Escape, this online game sees our brave watermelon rolling and hopping across roads and creepy forests. What is the watermelon escaping from? An evil summer picnic? Is Gallagher in town? We shall never know.

Nevertheless, the watermelon is controlled by tapping the space bar. That is unless you’d prefer to use an actual watermelon controller, which can be done with an Arduino custom circuit and code, and requires you to slap the real watermelon to control your digital one.

Revolutionary Watermelon is brought to us by Space Backyard. The game is available for download here, and instructions on making your own watermelon controller can be found here.

June 27, 2017 by Chris Durso

When one giant wiener on wheels just isn’t enough, there’s now an arsenal of mobile hot dogs. Oscar Mayer has recently expanded on their infamous Wienermobile, with the Wienerfleet.

Streamlining hot dog delivery for the digital age, the Wienerfleet includes the classic Wienermobile, the faster and more agile Wienermini, the off-roading Wienerrover, traffic-friendly Wienercycle and the flying Wienerdrone.

Check out all those wieners in action…

How To Make Your Own Pet Potato

June 26, 2017 by Chris Durso

Cats and dogs had a good run. Now, it’s time for the potato to become your new favorite pet.

DIY inventor Marek Baczynski, remembering from science class that a potato produces electricity, brings us the Pet Potato. What started as nothing more than a four-wheeled spud that could only travel a few inches in a straight line, quickly becomes a loyal multi-directional pet. Marek named his new buddy, Pontus.

What Marek didn’t take into account, unfortunately, is that keeping delicious pets around is never a good idea, and Pontus’s fate becomes obvious. I won’t give anything away, but that fate involves baking and some butter. Enjoy!

Ice Cream Is Now An Acceptable Pizza Topping

June 26, 2017 by Chris Durso

Pepperoni, meatballs, green peppers, anchovies, ice cream. This list may sound like the midnight snack of a pregnant woman, however it’s now a list of acceptable pizza toppings.

Philadelphia-based Little Babies Ice Cream collaborated with their neighbor Pizza Brain to create a pizza-flavored ice cream. And, what better way to serve said ice cream, than on an actual slice of pizza?

The ‘Frankford Ave. Taco,’ is available at Little Babies Ice Cream’s Scoop Shops (supplies permitting).

The Gratiator Cheese Grater Will Get A Thumbs Up From Your Caesar Salad

June 23, 2017 by Chris Durso

ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED!!! That’s what you’ll be asking everyone at your next pasta party, if you have the Gratiator Cheese Grater.

Wield the kitchen tool like a Roman gladiator, while you spread some cheese wherever it’s necessary. Hint, cheese is always necessary.

The Gratiator will help improve any pasta dish or Caesar salad. Hopefully, after the meal, you get a thumbs up.

Available for pre-order here.
