Resum-Ale, A Four-Pack of Beer That’s Also a Designer’s Resume

June 26, 2014 by Chris Durso

If you’re looking for a creative way to find a job… Or you’d just like to get a few hiring managers loaded, you might consider a beer resume.

Resum-Ale is the work of designer/homebrewer/job-seeker Brennan Gleason. The 4-pack consists of a blonde ale that Gleason brewed himself, with career accomplishments and his experience printed across each bottle.

So, if you’re looking for a designer, or just want some free booze, get in touch with Gleason.

Planet Beers Are Not Of This Earth

June 26, 2014 by Chris Durso

Inspired by Gustav Holst’s The Planets, Bell’s Brewery brings us The Planet Series of Beers.

Using a planet to inspire each style of beer, the series ranges from a blonde ale to a black double IPA. But, couldn’t they have at least created a light beer for Pluto? And, do we really need to know what Uranus tastes like?

“Mars, The Bringer of War” – Double IPA

“Venus, The Bringer of Peace” – A Blonde Ale brewed with honey, apricot, vanilla and cardamom

“Mercury, The Winged Messenger” – A Belgian Single

“Jupiter, The Bringer of Jollity” – A malt forward Brown Ale

“Saturn, The Bringer of Old Age” – A Bourbon Barrel-aged Barleywine

“Uranus, The Magician” – Black Double IPA

“Neptune, The Mystic” – A beer inspired by Dr. Bell’s Medicinal Stout, one of Larry Bell’s homebrews that also helped inspire Eccentric Ale

Foods Organized Neatly For Obsessive Compulsive Eaters

June 25, 2014 by Chris Durso

Things Organized Neatly is a single-serve Tumblr blog for obsessive compulsive folk. The site, curated by Austin Radcliffe, consists of nothing but items arranged into neat patterns, creating an art form in organization.

Whether the items are separated by color, shape, or are all part of a bigger unit — the project creates an aesthetic that is pleasing to the eyes, even if you’re not a neat-freak.

However, someone should tell them that separating Froot Loops is waste of time, considering that they’re all the same flavor.

The Bill Murray Burger

June 25, 2014 by Chris Durso

Pornburger recently created Bill U Murray Me?, a tribute burger to Bill Murray. So, as a burger dedicated to Bill Murray, it must consist of groundhog, or is topped with Stay-Puft Marshmallows then?

Nope… Pornburger just wanted to make a cheeseburger so mind-bendingly delicious-looking, that the immortal Bill Murray wouldn’t be able to resist the invitation to get together for a burger and beer. Pornburger… Please let us know if he shows up.

Food Art Created With Inedible Ingredients

June 25, 2014 by Chris Durso

Is it still food art, if the subject is completely inedible? That’s the question artist T.Q. Lee asks with Inedible, a photo series of food styling created from everyday and household items.

LEGO cereal, donuts made from socks, or a layer cake made from mud — Lee’s project challenges our perception of what makes us hungry, or grosses us out. The hot dog made from a rubber glove does a bit of both.
