Lunchbox Napkin Art by The Coolest Mom Ever

April 30, 2013 by Chris Durso

Remember those inspirational notes that Mom used to include in your lunchbox? Oh good, me neither. But a few kids named Archer and Ansel will surely remember theirs — because their notes are hand-drawn on napkins by their artist Mom, Nina Levy.

The best part… Nina takes requests. So, anything that the kids could dream up in their little heads, would appear in their lunchbox. Robin sitting on a Komodo dragon? Done. A Tyrannosaurus Rex and Tree Rex from Skylanders? No problem.

Check out more from the Daily Napkins project, which includes around 2,000 napkins over the past six years.

Tom Waits sounds like Cookie Monster. So a video of Cookie Monster lip-syncing Waits’ Hell Broke Luce needed to happen. Enjoy.

Life-Size Darth Vader Cake

April 29, 2013 by Chris Durso

Impressive… Most impressive. The Life-Size Darth Vader Cake is brought to us by Amanda Oakleaf — the same cake-maker that created the Life-Size Stormtrooper Cake.

When complete, the dark lord cake weighed just over 500 lbs, and stood 6 feet 7 inches tall. We can only imagine the sound it made when it was finally cut into.

Tomato Hairdo

April 29, 2013 by Chris Durso

The Tomato Hairdo is a style created by an Osaka salon called Trick Store. The do is officially titled, “Ripe Tomato,” in case you wanted to order one yourself. The salon that does the ‘Tomato’ is located in Osaka’s hipster youth district, Amemura.

So, of course, this young lady had a tomato head before it was cool. Never change, Japan.
