Pez Dispensers With Actual People Heads

January 30, 2013 by Chris Durso

pez-people

If you’ve ever owned a Pez dispenser, then you’ve probably imagined how cool it would be to get a likeness of your noggin on it. And, even better, to then fill your limbless plastic body with flavorless candy pellets.

Hot Pop Factory, a jewelry company that 3D prints its products, scanned the heads of their client’s employees and immortalized them in Pez dispenser form. And the people didn’t seem to mind that they were now spewing candy from a gaping hole in their neck.

Brooklynese Kitchenware

January 29, 2013 by Chris Durso

Brooklynese-Kitchenware-1

Before Brooklyn was known as the land of artisanal marmalades and organic rooftop gardens, the other borough’s claim to fame was its unique brand of modified English. Enter Brooklynese Kitchenware by Fishs Eddy, which has a little fun with native Brooklynites’ aversion to the letter R.

Whether you take your “cawffee,” with or without “shuguh,” the vessels spell out their contents phonetically for the R-impaired. The kitchenware is made of high-fired ceramic and available individually or in a gift box set.

And, for more fun kitchenware, check us out at The Foodiggity Shop. We’re located in New Jersey, where we always pronounce everything correctly.

Fortune Cookie Coin Purse

January 29, 2013 by Chris Durso

FortuneCookieBottomleft

With its inedible exterior and nonsensical contents, the fortune cookie is relatively useless. But now, the Fortune Cookie Coin Purse is here to help make up for the real fortune cookie’s shortcomings by holding your loose change. It’s the least it could do.

Brought to us by Diana Eng, the recycled leather coin purses take the form of the complimentary cookie, but without the useless lottery numbers and Chinese lessons inside. Available for pre-order here.

The Best Hyperrealistic Paintings of Gummy Bears That You’ll See Today

January 28, 2013 by Chris Durso

BluePlateSpecial

If you were looking to be teased with enticing images of gummy candies that you can’t have — then you’ve come to the right place. Artist Jeanne Vadeboncoeur created these hyperrealistic paintings of gummy bears, that appear real enough to be able to reach into the screen, smoosh ’em, and bite their little heads off. At least that’s how I roll.

Judging by how near perfect these paintings are, you’d think that Vadeboncoeur must surely focus all of her attention and talent into gummy bears and other gelatinous treats — but, no. Vadeboncoeur actually does equally well with donuts, cupcakes, and other creme-filled and defunct food items.
