What began as a simple celebration of art and the summer tomato, The Tomato Art Fest has become one of the most popular annual events in Nashville. Started by Meg and Bret MacFadyen of Art and Invention Gallery, the daylong and costume-friendly festival includes live music, fun events for adults and children, and of course a Bloody Mary contest.
But at the center of it all, is the celebration of the tomato as art. The often underappreciated fruit will be on display, as artists submit their best tomato-centric work to Meg and Bret’s gallery in East Nashville.
A preview of more tomato art can be found here. The Tomato Art Fest is Saturday, August 13 from 10 am-6 pm, with music continuing until 9:30 pm. Big thanks to Rachel for sending us the tip.
And be sure to check out more great food art from our past Food Art Fridays.
