Pizza In The Wild, A Photo Series of Pepperoni Pizzas In Unexpected Places

1

The problem with walking around outdoors… There’s simply not enough random pepperoni pizzas to discover.

Photographer and pizza lover Jonpaul Douglass wants to change that, with his fantastical photo series, Pizza In The Wild.

Random pepperoni pizzas are placed where they have no business existing — creating a strange yet thought-provoking series. What those thoughts are, we’re not quite sure. But I think I’d like pizza for dinner now.

Gourmet Mouse Traps, A Photo Series For The Finicky Rodent

gourmet-mouse-traps-7

If Tom and Jerry has taught us anything, it’s that a mouse can be lured from its hiding spot with virtually any small piece of cartoon cheese. That is unless you have a finicky critter taking residence in your walls, who’ll only come out for the good stuff.

Gourmet Mouse Traps, by artists Davide Luciano and Claudia Ficca, is a fun photo series that uses some enticing food items as a lure for your most finicky mice.

No rodent will be able to resist these gourmet traps… They should be stopping by shortly for some fine dining, and to have their little foodie neck snapped.

When Cheetos Look Like Stuff

Hammerhead Shark

We’re not sure how Cheetos are actually made, and frankly, we’d rather not know. But whatever the process, they occasionally take on some odd forms.

As documented by Cheese Curls of Instagram, sometimes Cheetos resemble stuff that’s very familiar. Often it’s as simple as a hammerhead shark or the number seven, and sometimes they might be reaching a bit.

Either way, there’s munchies involved and fingers will be orange.

Inedible Recipes, A Cookbook of Delicious Food Art

20140116112005-cover

Cookbooks… They’re always filled with such delicious recipes, you know, the kind you can actually eat. But what if there was a book that contained recipes of deliciously inedible food?

Inedible Recipes, by artist Crystal Smith, explores the concept of filling a cookbook with food no longer fit for consumption. The series of food art, which uses various forms of media added to food, could be described as an artbook, photobook and cookbook all in one — as Smith does in fact supply the “recipes” for each piece.

Inedible Recipes is currently an Indiegogo project. You can visit Crystal’s page and help this project become a reality here.

This Photo of M&Ms Does Not Use Photoshop

original

Adobe Photoshop is an indispensable creative tool. But the digital manipulation software, when in the wrong hands, can be used for pure evil — such as for blackmailing purposes, or to make a celebrity or model look like they’re completely made from plastic.

So, it’s good to see someone bypass Photoshop completely — instead using good old-fashioned photo technique and creativity. Take this photo of M&Ms by Patrick on Flickr. It would be easy to pass the image off as an abuse of the rubber stamp tool and various filters. However, it’s nothing more than a bowl of candies under a glass covered in water droplets.
