Michelangelo’s David is an irrefutable masterpiece. But if he was sculpted today as a commentary on the growing obesity epidemic, he might look a bit different, and the line outside the Uffizi would probably be a bit shorter.
The Super-Sized David Garden Sculpture gives us a more modern rendition of David — double chin, pot belly, cankles and all. Design Toscano was also considerate enough to finally cover up David’s manhood — which is probably not helped any by his new dimensions.
