At first glance, any of the works of Pamela Michelle Johnson could easily be mistaken as photography. And because they appear so realistic and always depict junk food, they induce comfort to the viewer, and may even encourage screen-licking. But the purpose of Johnson’s work is far less playful and lighthearted than it appears.
Mosaic Made From One Million Coffee Beans
Artist Saimir Strati takes his coffee seriously. So much so, that instead of grounding beans for his morning brew, he’s decided to use about one million of them to create a 25 square meter mosaic. Titled One World, One Family, One Coffee, the massive mosaic is being constructed in Strati’s native Albania. When completed, the coffee art will feature five characters representing different continents… and staying awake for long periods of time.

Rice Krispies Treat Stonehenge
For centuries, we’ve wondered what the actual purpose of Stonehenge was. Was it an oversized sundial? A druid temple? Now, it’s obvious that it was created to inspire awesomeness like Stonehenge Rice Krispies Treats.
The sticky homage to the prehistoric structure is brought to us by artist Christopher Boffoli — who creates masterful works of everyday scenes using mini figurines interacting with food landscapes.

Behold The Bacon Room
The Bacon Room is only a small sample of the work by American artist Sandy Skoglund. Actually titled Body Limits, the piece is a great example of Skoglund’s work, and her signature style of repetitive imagery. It also shows how an old-school artist rolls, creating elaborate sets without the use of Photoshop.
And if pork fat isn’t your thing, Skoglund’s fascination with food also helped create a room o’ Cheetos. Someone had orange fingers for a while, no doubt.
