Edible Water Balls Are The Future

water-balls

It’s often said that we should drink eight glasses of water a day. Now, we have to figure out how many balls it’s gonna take to stay hydrated.

Rodrigo Garcia Gonzalez, Guillaume Couche, and Pierre Paslier of Skipping Rocks Lab have created Ooho — an edible water sphere that’ll help you get your H20 whenever, wherever.

The water balls are made possible with help of a molecular gastronomy technique called spherification — which encapsulates water within an edible gelatinous membrane. The project was created to help replace the single-use plastic water bottles that are overtaking the planet.

The best part, is that they’re looking for beta testers of the product. So, go get some balls.

NYC Squirrel Steals Milkshake and Pizza Rat’s Thunder

Move over, Pizza Rat… There’s a new city-rodent stealing our food and our hearts.

Milkshake Squirrel can clearly be seen lifting a Shake Shack milkshake from the garbage. The flavor of the shake is still under debate, but judging by Milkshake Squirrel’s enthusiasm, it’s probably a Black and White. They are pretty awesome.

Foodfellas, A Goodfellas Parody Starring Fast Food Icons

foodfellas

“As far back as I can remember, I’ve wanted to run a fast food restaurant.”

What is it about the rise and fall of fresh-faced protagonists, that makes for great drama? Even if that protagonist is a fast food worker who eventually becomes “The King of Burgers.”

Foodfellas is a short film that takes us through the meteoric rise and epic downfall of a young go-getter, who falls in with the wrong crowd. Sound familiar?

Inspired by Goodfellas, the fry cook meets up with Ron The Don, a fast food clown. It does not end well.

The Starry Night, Vincent Van Gogh

Food artist Maria A. Aristidou, who we last saw making art with coffee, is back with a few cake masterpieces.

Her tiered-desserts include Van Gogh’s Starry Night, Munch’s Scream, and Picasso’s Girl Before Mirror. It’d be a shame to cut into one of these… that is until we remember there’s cake inside. Check out more of Aristidou’s work here.

Life is a struggle… but there’s always pizza to help get us through it. Pizza Rat, our latest animal internet hero, should be our inspiration.

Firstly, the brave little guy is not intimidated by the New York City subway system. He’ll also do whatever it takes to get his slice of pizza down the stairs as quickly as possible. Go, Pizza Rat!
